At the Independence Day commemoration held at the Lithuanian World Center in Lemont, the Lithuanian Foundation Chairman of the Board, Rimantas Griskelis, presented grants to Lithuanian heritage schools in the Chicago area.  Participants at the Commemoration applauded the Foundation for its continuous support of Lithuanian education.  Pictured left to right are:  Egidija Nefiodaviene representing “Pipiru ratelis” ($ 1,500),  Jurate Liutkiene representing “Rasos Lithuanian Saturday School” ($ 3,000), Žibute Maciuliene representing “Suburban Lithuanian Montessori” ($ 1,100), Audrone Elvikiene representing “Maironis Lithuanian Community School of Lemont” ($ 16,125) and Rimantas Griskelis, LF Chairman of the Board.  Presentations will be occurring in various cities nationwide, as these sums are but a part of the $70,000 granted to schools last year.
