Thank you "Lithuanian Foundation"...

The teachers and students at the Dr. V.Kudirka School in Elizabeth , New Jersey sent a special thank you to all Foundation members. 

The number of students attending Lithuanian Heritage schools increases every year. Currently, some 30 Lithuanian Heritage Schools are operating in the US and are reaching 1,788 students.  In 2007, the Lithuanian Foundation allocated $70,000 in direct grants to Lithuanian Heritage Schools through the Lithuanian Educational Council of the USA . 

The Lithuanian Foundation is proud to sponsor the annual “Amber Apple” and the “Lifetime Achievement in Lithuanian Education” awards.  With these awards and additional funding for teacher training and educational materials, this year alone, a total of $85,818 was allocated for Lithuanian education in the US .

LF also granted significant sums to Endowed Chair of Lithuanian Studies at University of Illinois at Chicago,  the Vasario 16 (Feb. 16) High School in Germany , and various educational and research projects. 

All told, allocations for education and academic pursuits in 2007 was $158,160.
