Lithuanian Foundation 50th Anniversary Contest

“LIETUVA, AŠ TURIU TAVE - LITHUANIA, YOU ARE MINE!”

 

In 2012 Lithuanian Foundation will celebrate its 50th anniversary!

To celebrate this date we are inviting kids and the youth, as well as art ensembles to participate in the contest “Lietuva, as turiu tave-Lithuania, you are mine!”.

The winners of the contest will receive terrific prizes. Contest winners will be announced in March 15, 2012 and prizes will be presented in April, 2012 during Lithuanian Foundation’s 50th anniversary gala.

Win One of the Following Terrific Prizes

The winners of each group will be awarded the following prizes:

• GROUP A - 4th grade or lower/Children 9 years of age and under: Nintendo Wii home video console  (around $300);
• GROUP B - Children in 5-8th grade/10-14 years of age: Apple iPod touch (around $300);
• GROUP C - High school students/18 and under:  Apple iPad (around $600);
• GROUP D - Adults/19 years of age and older: $700 check.

Family members and teachers may help younger participants. Projects can be created individually or in a group.

Assignment for Groups A to D:

Contest requires you to dedicate your project to the Lithuanian Foundation’s 50th anniversary celebration with the theme “Lietuva, as turiu tave!”. Creations can fall under many genres:

• Literature (poem, essay, article)
• Musical (composition, song)
• Visual ( drawing, sculpture, photography, videography) 
• Other

Creations can be created in the Lithuanian or English language.

When sending your project don't forget to indicate your first and last name, age, address, phone number, and project name. If project is presented by a group of people, indicate all of the members first and last names, as well as their ages.

Contest for Art Ensembles

A separate contest is available for art ensembles (participant age is unlimited). However, collectives have a different task (refer to Assignment for art ensembles).  PRIZE: The art ensemble category winner will awarded with $1,000 check. Received creations will be judged by Lithuanian Foundation and by other Lithuanian organizations’ representatives.We are inviting art ensembles to create a festive program’s script for Lithuanian Foundation’s 50th anniversary celebration. Program cannot be shorter than 45 minutes. Different elements (dance, song, theatre, etc.) can be combined in the program. It can be presented by a single or in tandem with other collectives. Winners would need to present their created program in April, 2012 during the Lithuanian Foundation’s 50th anniversary gala. Program scripts created by collectives have to be received by October 15, 2011.
