The 53rd Lithuanian Foundation Annual Members‘ Meeting

The Lithuanian Foundation held its Annual Members‘ Meeting on May 7, at the World Lithuanian Center in Lemont, IL. The meeting was opened by Saulius Cyvas, the Chairman of the Board. The Lithuanian National Anthem was sung by the fourth grade students of the Maironis Lithuanian Heritage School (Lemont, IL).

Marijus Gudynas, Consul of Lithuania in Chicago greeted the attendees. Juozas Kazlauskas Vice President of the Lithuanian American Community read letters from the World Lithuanian Community President Dalia Henke and the former Lithuanian Ambassador to the US, Zygimantas Pavilionis.

Elections were held for the Board and Audit Committee. Five members were elected to the Board for a three year term and three members were elected to the Audit Committee for a one year term.

Reports were presented the Chairman of the Board, Saulius Cyvas; President and CEO Marius Kasniunas (read by Daiva Litvinskaite); Finance Committee Chairman Rimantas Griskelis; Treasurer Vytenis Kirvelaitis; Grants Committee Chairman Vytautas Narutis; and the Audit Committee by Ruta Stropus. After approving the reports by acclamation, general questions and discussions followed.

The elected Members of the Baord were Saulius Cyvas, Vytautas Narutis, Darius Sabaliunas, Arvydas Tamulis ir Agne Vertelkaite, the elected Audit Committee members were  Ricardas Chiapetta, Rimas Kapacinskas, Vacys Saulys.

A meeting of the Board of Directors followed the Annual Meeting. Saulius Cyvas was re-elected as Chairman of the Board and Marius Kasniunas was re-elected as President and CEO.
